Bryan police search for murder suspect

BRYAN, TX — Bryan police said a man has died after he was stabbed on Friday.

Police are searching for the suspect, 40-year-old Deryl Desaussure Jackson, Jr., who is considered armed and dangerous. Jackson is described as 6 feet tall, weighing 190 pounds.

Police identified the victim as 33-year-old Jevel Kinney of Houston.

Officers responded to reports of an aggravated assault at 5:30 p.m. in the 600 block of N. Baylor Avenue in Bryan.

Police said Kinney got into an altercation with family members, and his brother-in-law stabbed him. Kinney was then transported to CHI St. Joseph's Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police say the suspect fled the scene before officers arrived. Officials believe this was an isolated incident based on the circumstances of the case.

The case is now being investigated by the Criminal Investigation Division.
