BRYAN, TX — A chaplain from Bryan is traveling to El Paso to comfort mourners after Saturday's mass shooting.
Pastor Gordon Knight of Christ's Way Baptist Church in Bryan will travel with other chaplains of the Southern Baptists of Texas Convention Disastor Relief group to "provide spiritual help to those affected by Saturday's mass shooting."
The group of volunteer chaplains will be stationed near and around the Walmart "to pray with folks and let them tell their story."
The chaplains will arrive in El Paso on Wednesday.
This group has previous experience in this type of ministry situation, including comforting those affected by the First Baptist Church shooting in Sutherland Springs in 2017.
