GATESVILLE, TX — A Boil Water Notice has been issued for a portion of Gatesville.
Due to a contractor breaking a main line on Feb. 3, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has required the Gatesville Regional Water System to notify customers in the western portion of the city including the Creek Cliff Addition, the Meadows Care Facility and up west Hwy 84 to CR 133, FM 116 from West 84 to 1500 feet north of Airport Road of the need to boil their water prior to consumption.
To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking and making ice should be boiled and cooled prior to use.
The water should be brought to a vigorous, roiling boil and then boiled for two minutes. In lieu of boiling, you may purchase bottled water or obtain water from other suitable sources.
Water officials will notify customers when it is no longer necessary to boil water.
