BRYAN, TX — Officials responded to a major accident on northbound Highway 6 in Bryan Saturday morning.

The accident occurred in the 300 block of N. Earl Rudder Frwy. at 11 a.m.

Officials said traffic was backed up into College Station, and being diverted to the Briarcrest exit.

"A Brinks Box truck was traveling Northbound on Hwy 6 in the outside lane," said officials. "A White painter’s van was traveling behind the Brinks truck. The white van failed to control speed and attempted to avoid hitting the Brinks truck but struck the back end of the vehicle causing the Brinks truck to roll on its side."

Another car was also hit by debris from the accident that came off of the van.

All of the vehicles had one driver and no other passengers.

Two driverse from the Brinks truck were taken to CHI St. Joseph Hospital to be treated and were released.

The driver of the van received a citation for failure to control speed, said officials.

Traffic was diverted off of Hwy 6 onto the feeder road at the Briarcrest exit while the scene was cleared.

It took two hours to clear the roadway and it's now reopened.
