(KXXV) — 10-year-old David just wants a family that will love him, and a dad he can play catch with.
David looks up to former Texas Longhorn baseball player Ryan Kjos, who took time to train David at Triple Play Baseball Sports Complex, and talk about respect, integrity and a love for the game.
"Don't get upset when you get striked out," said David.
David has had disappointment in his search for a forever family, but he isn't discouraged.
"I look forward to having friends that can come over to their house and that I have a mom and a dad, and I can also mow the lawn for them," said David.
"What do you do on those tough days? When you're not feeling so happy," asked Central Texas News Now Anchor Lindsay Liepman.
"I normally go outside to forget about it," said David.
David is a Cub Scout. He loves camping and wants to travel, but more than anything... he wants a place to call home.
You can read David's bio at the Heart Gallery of Central Texas, a program of Partnerships for Children.
"Forever Families" airs every Monday at 6:30 p.m. on Central Texas News Now.
