San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich endorsed Joe Biden for president while taking some big shots at President Donald Trump.

The Lincoln Project released Popovich's endorsement, which comes only a few days before the Nov. 3 general election.

"Our country is at a crossroads and each of us must decide where we stand," Popovich said in the minute-long ad. "I stand for truth over lies. I stand for equality and categorically reject white supremacy. I believe in compassion and decency. I believe our veterans are true American heroes, not suckers, not losers."

The endorsement appeared on the page of the Lincoln Project, which was founded by Republicans whose goal is to "defeat Donald Trump and Trumpism," according to its website.

"A vote for Donald Trump is a vote against the very ideals upon which our democracy was founded," Popovich says in the video.

Popovich graduated from the Air Force Academy in 1970 and served five years of required duty in the Air Force. He has been the head coach of the Spurs since 1996, leading the team to five NBA championships and six trips to the NBA Finals.
