Waco-area woman creates mask extenders to help healthcare workers

WACO, TX — A Waco-area woman is doing her part to make it a little easier for healthcare workers during this pandemic.

She is making surgical mask extenders. These extenders make it possible for doctors or nurses to loop the mask on a plastic knob, instead of their ears.

Many nurses have shown photos of hacks that they have used to help alleviate the pain from wearing a mask all day. Some are making headbands with buttons and others are changing their hairstyles as an effort to get some relief.

Becca Kinerd says she is making her extenders free for anyone who has to wear a mask daily. They just have to contact her on Facebook, and she can mail them if they are not local.

She said she ordered enough to make 300, and she can make 150 extenders from $20.

If anyone would like to donate, she listed the following information.
