CENTRAL TEXAS — During these uncertain times, people are taking extra steps wearing facial masks and gloves to keep themselves healthy. However, if not done properly, you could put others at risk.

The coronavirus has left restaurants, bars, movie theaters, and malls empty, but one thing is left behind... used gloves.

While the public is now encouraged to wear facial masks, even gloves if they chose, not disposing of them properly put others in danger, especially for essential workers left to clean it up.

The National Institutes of Health says COVID-19 can live on a variety of surfaces like plastic, stainless steel, fabric, and even gloves from a few hours to a few days. So be a good neighbor and properly dispose of your gloves.
