Jailed hair salon owner visits repeatedly cited Waco tattoo shop

WACO, TX — Since Friday, Infamous Ink in Waco has opened up every day... and then been cited by the city.

When the governor announced that hair salons and barbershops could open up on May 8, many tattoo shops felt left out. And Infamous Ink decided to take a stand against the order, and they have opened up for business, with modifications.

This situation mirrors that of Shelley Luther of Dallas. Luther a Dallas hair salon owner who was jailed earlier this month for illegally reopening her business during the coronavirus pandemic.

Luther was released from jail after Gov. Greg Abbott amended his policies to eliminate jail time for people who violate his orders. The Texas Supreme Court granted an order that led to Luther’s release.
