Find Your Waco: connecting with the community

WACO, TX — For the October 14 edition of Central Texas Living Ann Harder spoke with Jennifer Branch, director of existing industries and workforce development for the Greater Waco Chamber and Lexy Bishop, research and project manager with the Greater Waco Chamber.

Coming up on Wednesday, October 16 the Greater Waco Chamber of Commerce will host the Find Your Waco Life Fair. The event is happening from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Freedom Fountain at the Waco Convention Center. This event is free to attend and is open to the public. Find Your Waco is a great opportunity to learn about different ways to get plugged into the community.

Find Your Waco will feature four “quads” for attendees to explore and interact with:

-FIND YOUR TRIBE:
This will help attendees connect with people and organizations in the area. There will be a variety of organizations present including, churches and religious groups, non-profits, fitness facilities, networking groups, and sporting groups.

- FIND YOUR CAREER:
Thie will encourage attendees to get plugged in with local employers. Participating employers may be looking for full time, part-time, or internships candidates from a range of fields such as education, healthcare, tech and manufacturing.

- FIND YOUR SPACE:
Here, attendees can find out what life is like in Waco and look for a place to call “home.” Several real estate companies, apartment complexes, hotels, construction and roofing companies, banks and school districts will be present to inform attendees about the living climate in the area and explore financial options.

- FIND YOUR FLAVOR:
This quad will give attendees a taste of the unique food services and culinary practices of the area. Industries represented will include restaurants, bars, food trucks and craft breweries.
