As you clean out your closets after Christmas, you might be looking for a place to get rid of some stuff to create some space. Goodwill has a list of the best items to donate and what not to donate after Christmas:
Top 10 items to donate:
- Clothing
- Wardrobe Accessories
- Small Appliance and Electronics
- Household Furniture
- Kitchen Wares
- House Wares
- Jewelry
- Books, Records or DVDs
- Hand tools and Power Tools
- Games, Toys and Sports Equipment
What not to donate:
- Clothing that is soiled, wet or torn
- Furniture which is broken, torn or stained, covered in pet hair or has missing parts
- Room-to-room carpeting or carpet padding
- Tires, batteries, gasoline, motor oil, paint in general, flammable or combustible gases (propane, butane, oxygen, etc.)
- Mattresses, box springs, water beds or water bed frames
- TV’s, microwaves, VCR’s, guns or other firearms, bullets or other ammunition, explosives, organs and pianos
- Large desks
- Baby items and baby furniture
- Hazardous Waste Materials
