CTX non-profit hosts event to pamper those battling cancer

WACO, TX — For the September 25 edition of Central Texas Living Ann Harder spoke with Louise Lewis and Kathleen Dow with Altrusa International of Waco.

Altrusa is an international non-profit with local chapters working to make a difference in communities through leadership, partnership and service. The club offers a number of opportunities to get involved in a variety of service, literacy, fundraising and international projects each year.

Coming up on Wednesday, October 16 is the 14th Annual Cancer Escape Day. This event provides people, both men and women, battling cancer with a day of pampering. Services offered include manicures, pedicures, facials, hand/foot massage or hairstyle and cut. The event is happening from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at La Bella Salon and Beauty Lounge, but appointments must be made in advance and it is first come first serve.
