BELL COUNTY, TX — For the October 8 edition of Central Texas Living Ann Harder spoke with Becky Montgomery, CASA board member and Oscar Domino, owner of KHUR Radio.

When a child enters the foster care system because their home is no longer safe, a judge may appoint a committed volunteer to help them. That volunteer is called a Court Appointed Special Advocate, or CASA. CASA volunteers are each assigned to help one child or set of siblings at a time, so they can focus on giving that child or sibling group the individualized advocacy and attention they need.

CASA by the Water is a social for the community, where all proceeds go toward CASA. The event is happening Saturday, October 12, 6 to 10 p.m. at the Venue at Lilly Pond. Tickets are $35 each.
