WACO, TX — For the September 18 edition of Central Texas Living Ann Harder spoke with Julie Talber, a child care contract manager with Workforce Solutions for the Heart of Texas.

The 11th Annual Child One Provider Recognition Banquet is scheduled for Thursday, October 17 from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Brazos Ballroom in the Waco Convention Center. Child One is a parent and community engagement initiative of Workforce Solutions for the Heart of Texas. Workforce Solutions for the Heart of Texas administers the region’s Child Care Services program(CCS). CCS subsidizes the cost of child care for more than 2,000 children every day. The subsidy allows eligible parents to enter the workforce, complete high school, and/or participate in post-secondary education and skills training. The goals of the Child One Initiative are to raise awareness of the importance of early experiences, to recognize quality early learning programs, and to highlight the critical role the child care industry plays in the lives of children and families, as well as businesses and the economy.

Tickets for the event are $15 and anyone everyone is invited.
