CENTRAL TEXAS — For the October 3 edition of Central Texas Living Ann Harder spoke with Dr. Coleen Macmurdo, D.O., clinical geneticist at Baylor Scott & White and Stephanie Thompson, clinical genetics counselor at Baylor Scott & White.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and one of the most effective ways to fight breast cancer is early detection. Early detection can make all the difference in a deadly diagnosis, and testing can give you time to consider options that can possibly effect your future and the future of your loved ones. Genetic testing does not diagnose cancers, but it ca be used as a guied to determine an individual's chances of developing cancer and can guide treatments.
