COLLEGE STATION, TX — The College Station Police Department is moving into a new facility.

The new $30 million facility is scheduled to be completed in late March.

Police Chief Scott McCollum said College Station has outgrown the current facilitates that the department has around the city. This new facility will be able to meet the needs of the department.

"We're very excited. This has been a long time coming. I can remember five years ago when this was maybe just a pipe dream, and there were a lot of guys thinking this would never happen. We'd all be retired before it came to fruition, but here we are and we're coming up close and fixing to start moving all the guys over," said Tristen Lopez, CSPD PIO.

Construction is almost finished. During the next few weeks, the department will be going through old files and determine what information stays and what goes.
