WACO, Texas — Two people have been arrested and charged in connection with the death of a newborn found inside a Waco motel.

Waco police said the body of a 3-month-old boy was discovered at the New Road Inn along with narcotics.

Skylynn Tuerk, 33, and Charles Harris, 27, have been charged with two counts of child endangerment and for possession of less than one gram of methamphetamine, police said.

A 3-year-old girl was also found at the motel, but she was later placed in Child and Protective Services custody. Police could not confirm the relationship between the couple and the children.

The spokesperson said exactly how the infant died is still unclear, but the child's body will undergo an autopsy.

Waco police are investigating the death of a 3-month-old boy.

Officers arrived at the motel and found the boy, but he was later taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead, according to a police spokesperson.

The child’s body was found about 8 a.m. Wednesday in a room at the New Road Inn, 4000 I-35 N Frontage Road.

Police said it’s unclear how he died and are calling the death questionable.
