WACO, TX — One person is dead after a multi-vehicle crash on Valley Mills Drive in Waco.

Just before 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, officers were called to the intersection of Fort Avenue and Valley Mills Drive to reports of an accident involving a motorcycle.

Police said a Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle was traveling northbound on Valley Mills Drive when it hit a Dodge Durango that was leaving a business parking lot. The impact killed the motorcyclist.

The motorcyclist was later identified as 19-year-old Nelson Llano Jr.

Two others involved in the crash were rushed to Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest in an unknown condition.

Police say investigators have determined that speeding on the part of Llano was the cause of the crash.

They said this is twice in the past two months that speeding and unsafe operation of the motorcycle has been the contributing factor to the death of the driver.

Witnesses to last night's crash stated the bike was swerving and changing lanes at a high rate of speed. The first crash that happened was on Feb. 2, speeding was also the cause of the crash.

The crash investigation shut down Valley Mills Drive in both directions, between Sanger Avenue and New Road.
