If you missed out on celebrating Earth Day on April 22, we have some good news. World Environment Day is coming up on June 5 and it’s a perfectly good excuse for abandoning your responsibilities and heading outdoors to get fresh air.

While it’s obviously good for your health to get a little exercise by taking a hike, going for a walk or just enjoying the sunshine, there’s also another very important reason to spend some time outside this June. If you take a photo while you’re outside enjoying your favorite spot or thing to do, T-Mobile will donate a tree to The Nature Conservancy on your behalf!

All you have to do is post your photo to Twitter or Instagram June 5-11 with the hashtag #TreeMobile and T-Mobile will donate one tree per hashtag.

The #TreeMobile campaign has actually been going on for a few months already, with T-Mobile donating trees for Earth Day in April and National Love A Tree Day in May. Up to 66,000 trees will be donated in June; the company’s ultimate goal is to plant 500,000 trees.

“T-Mobile is all about magenta but we love green, too – especially when we are talking about our planet,” T-Mobile CEO John Legere said in a press release. “Last year on Earth Day, with your #TreeMobile tweets we planted 27,000 trees but that was just the beginning. This year we are going even bigger.”

You can see how close T-Mobile is to reaching its goal by visiting the website. At the time of this story, the wireless network operator was already at nearly 300,000 trees donated.

While we can’t say exactly where your tree will be planted, The Nature Conservancy has planting locations in North America, Latin America and Asia as part of its Plant A Billion Trees initiative. T-Mobile’s #TreeMobile efforts have primarily supported the planting of trees in North America to assist with re-greening efforts that combat deforestation.

This is an easy and fun way to help save the planet! Will you grab your camera and submit a nature photo to have a tree planted in your honor?
