HOUSTON, TX — A woman and three toddlers were rescued from a Houston home after police say a man took them hostage on Monday.
Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said they were at the 5700 block of Graycliff Drive due to an armed barricaded man. Several streets in the area were shut down due to the incident.
Around 9:50 p.m. on Monday, the man exited the home and was taken into custody. Before exiting the home, he started a fire. The fire department was then on scene to extinguish the fire.
It was later known that the man held a woman and three toddlers ranging from 1-3 years old in the home. He held them hostage armed with a machete.
