AUSTIN, TX — UPDATE:
APD's Bomb Squad (EOD) has determined that the suspicious package is not a threat. There is no danger to the public. One person has been arrested for failure to ID, according to police.
ORIGINAL STORY:
The Austin Police Department's Explosive Ordnance Disposal squad is on scene after a suspicious package was reported at the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport Friday morning.
Austin Police said they received the call at 9:56 a.m.
Roads leading into the Austin airport from the arrival and departure level into the terminal were closed for some time but vehicular traffic can now begin to enter the airport, according to a tweet from the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport.
The Austin Police bomb squad is responding and the situation is being treated as a bomb threat, the department told KVUE.
Travelers should anticipate delays and contact their airline for more information regarding their flight status.
UPDATE: @Austin_Police EOD has arrived on scene and the security cordon has been expanded. All roadways into the terminal are currently closed.
