LIBERTY HILL, TX — In a letter posted on Facebook, Liberty Hill head coach and Athletic Director Phillip Jefferson Walker passed away after an 8 year battle with cancer.

Coach Walker had been with Liberty Hill since 2004 where he served as the football offensive coordinator until 2007 when he took over as head coach at Rogers until 2014.

From 2015, he became a teacher at Liberty Hill Jr. High until 2017 when he became the head coach and athletic director for Liberty Hill High School.

Currently, his team is 8-0 and heading into the playoffs.

"This place is better because you were here and these kids are much better because you coached, improved them, loved them, and built Champions!" Superintendent Snell relayed yesterday.
