WARNING GRAPHIC CONTENT: (KPRC/CNN) -- A six-year-old boy attacked by a dog in Texas is safe, thanks to his teen neighbor who jumped into action to save the boy's life.

And it was all caught on camera.

Mason Lindeman’s parents haven't seen their son's hero since Sunday’s attack.

When they do, they say they want to thank him and give him a big hug.

The attack can be seen from several different angles in the video.

The dog going straight for six-year-old Mason Lindeman, who was playing in the driveway.

"My son was just lying on the ground. He's six he kind of knows what to do but he's never been put in a situation like that," said Jillian Lindman, the victim’s mother.

She said she could hear the screams.

Grant brown, their 19-year old neighbor, happened to be outside.

"As soon as I noticed I just ran over there without thinking and I didn't know how but I knew I had to get the dog off of the boy," said Brown.

In the video, Brown can be seen running directly towards the dog. The Pit bull eventually focus' in on Brown, giving Mason a chance to run inside.

"All I see is my son running up to me and he's got his hand on his head and there’s blood coming down and everything," said Jillian.

Mason was bitten on the back of his head. The cut required several staples. He also has several bruises on his face.

Brown was injured as well.

In the video, he can be seen running back to his house, but the dog threw him to the ground.

"I looked back and my shoes came off. I tripped and fell the dog was on top of me before I knew it and I knew I had to keep his mouth away from me," said Brown.

Brown has a cut to his hand but will be okay.

Jillian says her son was lucky, and fortunate that brown stepped up. He acted like a true hero.

"I just want to give the guy a hug. There's nothing I can do but just say thank you," said Jillian.

As for the dog, it has been surrendered to animal control.

The dog's owner has been cited.
