HOUSTON, TX — The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo has announced festivities are now scheduled for May 4 - 23, 2021.

Originally scheduled for March 2 – 21, RODEOHOUSTON® competitions, concerts and family fun festivities will be held in May, pending the COVID-19 health status.

Pre-rodeo events, such as the Downtown Rodeo Parade, Rodeo Run, & Trail Ride activities, will be moved to coincide with the new May date. Details for these events and more will be announced later on.

While these dates are not guaranteed, officials hope moving them out by two months will provide a better opportunity to host the annual event. Additional details & full health guidelines will be released by early March; the Junior Livestock and Horse Show competitions will still be held in March also.

“The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo is truly a community event that Rodeo fans look forward to each and every year... We remain dedicated to fulfilling our mission to support Texas youth and hosting a long-time Houston tradition.” said Chris Boleman, Rodeo president and CEO
