SAN ANTONIO, TX — The City of San Antonio and the Fiesta San Antonio Commission have officially announced the postponement ofFiesta 2021.

The annual citywide celebration typically takes place every April but due to the pandemic, the news dates will be from June 17 to 27, 2021.

Last year, Fiesta was first postponed to November but ultimately ended up being canceled due to the rise in COVID-19 cases in the city.

The celebration originally started in 1891 as a parade to honor those who gave their lives in the battle of the Alamo and the battle of San Jacinto.

The event had only been canceled one other time during World War 2.
