(KXXV) - — Officials on Lake Tawakoni said a 47-pound fish was caught on Saturday.

According to lake officials, they are waiting on confirmation from Texas Parks and Wildlife to confirm a DNA sample from the fish to be a true channel catfish and not a hybrid catfish.

The current record holder channel catfish weighs 36.50 pounds. It was caught on March 7, 1965, from the Pedernales River.
