HEWITT, TX — The Texas Legislature ended its 86th session passing several important new laws, including multiple gun laws. Monday Central Texas leaders hosted a special update workshop to help answer any questions about the new laws.

The workshop was presented by Texas LawShield Independent Program Attorneys at the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Hewitt from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m.

The community got to ask any questions about the crucial legal changes that went into effect September 1st.

Johnny Price from Big Iron Concealed Handgun Training said he believes workshops like these are important.

"There are a lot of laws that always change every year. Not everyone keeps up with them, so it gives them a chance to pick up on the new laws and the changes that could impact whether or not they go to jail, so that way they do these to educate the public," said Price

Some of the topics discussed included changes to the list of prohibited places, closing the government loophole on restricting the 2nd Amendment, and new laws regarding clubs and knuckles.
