WACO, TX — The Waco ISD Education Foundation celebrated their 13th annual HEB Celebrity Cookoff on Friday evening.
The event was driven by 29 local celebrities who acted as chefs, serving special dishes to the public.
Those attending were able to win door prizes and rewards while raising funds.
Food served was from many different cultures and it showed the good in the community looking out for the school district.
"It's great to have an event like this because it truly shows all aspects of the community coming together for the common goal of education and the students of Waco ISD.", said Lara Robertson, Director of Communications for WISD.
The amount raised was not displayed, but the school district hopes to meet their million dollar mark.
