WACO, TX — Waco has ranked as the 4th best midsize city for firefighters, according to a new 311-city study by AdvisorSmith.

The study analyzed 311 cities based upon firefighters salaries, the cost of living, and the availability of jobs for firefighters.

Waco ranked #4 overall, beating out Corpus Christi, Longview, and Killeen.

The study show Waco hosts 15% more jobs for firefighters on a per-capita basis compared with the U.S. average.

The average annual salary for firefighters in Waco is $66,720, 25% above the national average, while the cost of living is 16% below the average.
