WACO, TX — The Waco Police Department says there are no lock downs in the area after local schools received scam calls claiming to be police today.
They say some local schools are receiving calls from a person stating there is a police operation taking place in East Waco and the area needs to go on soft lock down.
"At this time, there is no operation taking place from our department nor have we called the schools to place them on lock-down," said Officer Bynum.
He says his department and Waco ISD Police are currently investigating where the calls are coming from.
