WACO, TX — The City of Waco is making changes to its brush pickup service.
Executive Director of Special Projects Charles Dowdell says people were leaving excessive amounts of brush piles that city trucks were not build to process.
It also strained personnel resources and created delays on pickup routes.
Last week the City proposed limiting homes to two green bins.
Homeowners will get a maximum of 20 leaf bags (paper). Limbs must be less or equal to 3 inches, with a maximum of 4'x4'x4' stacks, which is about the size of a pickup.
The City hopes this will help improve the city's overall appearance and the efficiency at which crews operate.
Brush pickup will continue to run every other week with limited pick up.
If you have larger piles of brush that need to get picked up you should call Solid Wasete Customer Service at (254) 299-2612.
Brush can also be hauled by residents to the Cobbs Citizen Convenience Center or Waco Landfill with a Waco residential water bill and proof of residency.
