Waco ISD to host 8th Annual Family Fest to get students ready for school

WACO, TX — Waco ISD is holding its 8th Annual Family Fest on Saturday, August 10 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Waco High School and University High School campuses.

Parents can register students for the 2019-2020 school year at the event, if they are not already registered. Registered students can also receive a voucher for a free backpack with school supplies to be redeemed at Family Fest as long as supplies last. To receive the voucher, families must attend the event at the high school to which they are zoned, said Waco ISD in a release.

Health screenings and immunizations will be available at the event for little to no cost. Parents should bring insurance cards, if available, said Waco ISD. Families can enjoy free food and entertainment and visit booths set up by local organizations and businesses.

If your child is attending one of these schools, attend Family Fest at University High School (3201 S. New Rd. Waco):

  • Kendrick Elementary
  • South Waco Elementary

Attend Family Fest at Waco High School (2020 N. 42nd Street Waco, TX):

*If your child attends Lake Air Montessori Magnet, this school will be represented at both locations.
