WACO, TX — The Waco Immigrants Alliance announced Wednesday that it has been working closely with several local groups and organizations to co-create the ChangeWaco alliance over the past two weeks.
The WIA stated that the recent deaths of Ahmaud Aubry, Breona Taylor, and George Floyd emphasized the need for continued work on racial equality movements. They also wanted to capitalize on the interest on issues that has spiked in recent weeks, with over 600 people attending the Waco rally for change event in response to what's been going on nationally.
ChangeWaco is currently seeking volunteers through an application on Google Forms. The organization also plans on starting a podcast in the future in addition to events organized by the WIA.
