WACO, TX — Waco High School has extended its remote instruction by one week.
The school campus closed Monday due to impacts of COVID-19.
Principal James Stewart sent a message to Waco High families and employees that remote learning would continue through Friday, November 20.
Stewart says a significant number of employees will be out next week due to COVID-19. That includes more than 20 teachers who are isolating after testing positive or quarantining after being in close contact with someone who tested positive.
The number of out employees will make it difficult to adequately supervise in-person learning, Stewart said.
Students will be allowed to return for in-person instruction after Thanksgiving Break on Monday, November 30.
