WACO, TX — Three University High School students were detained in the parking lot regarding threats made towards schools in Bellmead and Waco.
Around 4 p.m. on Thursday, November 21, Bellmead Police Department took three boys into custody related to an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon that occured in the 1200 block of Fisher Street in Waco Monday.
The three suspects are also being questioned about several social media posts regarding threats made towards schools in Bellmead and Waco.
The 17-year-old was detained and released pending further investigation.
The 15-year-old was taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
The 16-year-old was detained and released to Waco police investigators.
In a message sent out to parents, Principal Ricky Edison said the school was placed on hold to ensure students were kept away from the activity.
Principal Edison said at no time were students inside the school in danger.
