CRAWFORD, TX — On Memorial Day, dozens of families visited Tonkawa Falls in Crawford to cool off.
People of all ages enjoyed cliff jumping, swimming and floating around the water.
Daniel Ford and his family laughed the day away as they soaked in the sunshine. Ford said he's grateful for days like this where he and his family can embrace the freedom members of our military fight for.
"We came out here today to celebrate the rights that were given to us by the men and women that gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country," Ford said. "It's a good time to reflect on what we actually have because of what they did. They gave their life for us and this is what we get to enjoy."
Tonkawa Falls was closed off to the public for a good portion of last year due to lack of water flow, leading to unsafe water levels for swimming. But recent, significant rainfall reopened the spot for swimmers.
