WACO, TX — The first financial institution, TFNB Your Bank For Life, finally opened its doors on Monday in East Waco in over 100 years.

It's a project the CEO says was long overdue.

"It is high time that there is a community bank on-site in east Waco, and we are so glad that we are the first bank in Central Texas to have this opportunity, and it's finally here," said David Littlewood, CEO & President of TFNB Your Bank for Life.

The bank, based in McGregor, now has 5 locations throughout Central Texas.

Jason Lavender with TFNB Your Bank For Life says they are all about serving communities.

"We feel like this really helps set the example of who we are as a community bank because it is an example of everything we represent," said Jason Lavender, Director of Strategic Initiatives.

"We want them to feel comfortable coming into our bank, and hopefully, with us being here, more opportunities will come to help the community grow," said Dortheia Love, Senior Vice President.

The current location of the bank is inside the recently renovated and historic "Train Waco" building.

The permanent site will be in a different historic building across the street, the "Gladstone Knight Building."

"That will be ready in 6-12 months, and it will offer a drive-through and all of the things that you would expect a community bank to have," said Littlewood.

It's a community bank that many in East Waco have been asking for, and now it's here.

"I think the need has been here for so long, and the community has been disappointed so many times about not having a bank that it's great to be a part of bringing that dream to life," said Love.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony for TFNB Your Bank For Life will be Monday from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. Following the ceremony, the bank will be open to the public.

On November 19, TFNB Your Bank For Life is hosting a community open house to greet more people. There will be a band, food trucks, and TFNB merchandise given away.
