MCLENNAN COUNTY, TX — Need a way to beat the heat? ACE Hardware is there to help, and so is the Salvation Army. Keith ACE Hardware will be running a Fan Drive from June 24 to July 14, 2019 at all of their 15 locations.
Wherever there's a Keith ACE Hardware, customers can find fans to help cool off. The Salvation Army team in Central Texas will find individuals and families who need fans provided, and customers in need can purchase a fan or simply make a monetary donation to help meet that need. The Salvation Army will then deliver the fans to the communities who requested the fan.
If you have a new, unused fan, the Salvation Army is offering to take that as well - simply drop it off at any of the Salvation Army locations.
The Salvation Army said that "Seniors, lower-income families who struggle paying utilities and those with older homes without air conditioning are often the most vulnerable to the dangers of extreme heat. They often struggle with sweltering temperatures indoors." Both the Salvation Army and Keith ACE Hardware hope the fan drive will help relieve those communities struggling with summer heat.
