WACO, TX — A second arrest has been made in the murder of 17-year-old Aqurius McPhaul. The murder happened in September of this year in the 2900 block of S. 4th St.
Daezion Watkins was being transported to the Waco Police Department by a family member to turn himself in yesterday afternoon. As they got near the police department, Watkins jumped from the car and fled on foot.
After a short chase, Watkins was captured by Waco Police Department patrol officers, detectives, and a K-9 officer. He was hiding in a backyard in the 3100 block of Edna Street.
He has been charged with the murder and now an additional charge of evading arrest.
The investigation on the murder case is ongoing.
