WACO, TX — The Salvation Army is continuing to provide beyond the giving season through a coat drive in McLennan County.
Major James Taylor said the cold hasn’t fully settled in yet here in Central Texas and community members need help bracing for the cold.
The Salvation Army is partnering with iHeartRadio Waco and Waco Winery Tasting Room and Rooftop Patio to collect clothes, hats, gloves, scarves and coats for those in need. The three locations will be collecting items during business hours through January 31, 2020.
The Salvation Army offers emergency services, shelter, a community kitchen and a thrift store year-round. The McLennan County Salvation Army recently exceeded its goal by nearly $3000 in red kettle donations for its year-round operations. Major James Taylor looks forward to witnessing the community’s generosity once again.
