WOODWAY, TX — Woodway police are investigating after they responded to a call of shots fired Thursday night.

Police said they received a call around 6:30-7 p.m. of shots fired at the 1200 block of Sierra Drive. A neighbor called it in.

When officers arrived at the home, the front door was open with blood on the floor, so the SWAT team was called in.

Police were able to contact the owner of the home, and he said he disposed of an animal and left the scene.

Police said the animal may have been an armadillo.

Officers did find a shot gun on the scene, which the homeowner said was used to shoot the animal.

The homeowner is cooperating with police about what happened.
