Police: No injuries reported after train hits vehicle in downtown Waco

WACO, TX — No injuries were reported after a train struck a vehicle in downtown Waco on Wednesday.

According to Waco police, they believe the vehicle was hit in the 500 block of Jackson Ave. shortly after 5:30 p.m.

They said the vehicle was illegally parked and was hit by the train. When the vehicle was hit, it then hit two other vehicles that were parked nearby.

No injuries were reported.

Union Pacific has sent a new crew to run the train after the accident. Police said it is protocol for a new crew to be sent to run the train after an accident.

The train was temporarily blocking 3rd Street to 20th Street. However, at 7:30 p.m., the train was moved and cleared all intersections.

Waco police are still investigating the crash.
