WACO, TX — Waco police arrested the suspect in the Whataburger road rage altercation that happened on March 28.
According to police, they arrested 45-year-old Darrell Gallaway Jr. He is alleged to have struck a motorcycle at 38th Street and Waco Dr. causing injury to the driver.
Police said Gallaway got into a verbal altercation over an order that was taking too long to be placed at the drive-thru of the Whataburger located on N. Valley Mills Dr. The other man in the altercation was driving a motorcycle.
After the altercation, Gallaway followed the motorcycle to 38th St. and Waco Dr. Gallaway, who was driving a Green Ford Explorer, is accused of striking the motorcyclist and then fleeing the scene. The driver of the motorcycle was injured in the incident.
Police said Gallaway was taken into custody Friday evening and transported to the McLennan County Jail.
He is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and failure to stop and render aid.
