WACO, TX — Pie Five Pizza is warning customers about a data breach that may be affecting payment information.

The breach could affect customers who made purchases at certain Pie Five Pizza locations late 2018. The Waco location was affected from September 26 through December 2.

Pie Five Pizza said no sensitive personal information like social security numbers or personally identifying information was affected in the incident. Possibly affected payment card data includes name, account number, card expiration date and verification code.

The breach was caused by an unauthorized individual who was able to gain access to and install malicious software designs to capture payment card information on some of the payment processing systems. The company said the software was able to capture real-time card information as data was being entered into the system.

The incident only affected customers who made in-store purchases.

Pie Five Pizza is asking customers who visited one of their locations last fall to review credit and debit card account statements in order to determine if there is any unusual activity listed.
