Former Congressman Pete Sessions announced his candidacy for Texas' 17th District seat, which has been held by Representative Bill Flores.
Representative Flores held the seat for nearly a decade before announcing his retirement last month.
Sessions lost his re-election last year in Dallas to Democratic candidate Colin Allred.
Wednesday Sessions took to the podium expressing his stance on the Republican Party and the issues he wants to address in the district, which stretches from Waco to Bryan-College Station.
The election takes place November 3rd 2020.
