Overnight shooting in Waco leaves one dead, investigators searching for suspect

WACO, TX — UPDATE: Waco Police have identified the 19-year-old male as Daylon Anothony Cervantez of Waco.

ORIGINAL STORY:

Early Friday morning around 1:50 AM, Waco PD officers received a call of shots fired at a local bar called Mr. Magoo’s located at 4601 Hodde Dr. in Waco, TX.

As officers arrived on-scene, they attempted to speak with multiple individuals to gain information about the possible shooting but were not successful. They did locate multiple shell casings in the parking lot of the establishment, but no other evidence was immediately seen.

A short time later, Waco PD received a call that a gunshot victim had arrived at a local hospital by private vehicle. Unfortunately, before officers could arrive at the hospital, the victim was pronounced dead.

After arriving at the hospital, officers learned that the now-deceased victim had in fact been shot in the parking lot area of 4601 Hodde Dr. The victim is a 19-year-old male who was identified at the hospital. His identity will be released at a later time.

Investigators worked throughout the night in an attempt to learn any information about this shooting and are still working to try and identify any suspect information.
