WOODWAY, TX — Woodway Patrol Officers say a vehicle pursuit led to the arrest of a 20-year-old man who was found to be in possession of several stolen firearms and driving a stolen car.

On Thursday at 3:19 a.m., officers tried to stop a suspicious vehicle in the 8800 block of Bosque Boulevard.

The suspect continued driving, fleeing down Bosque and Woodland West to the Wood Creek neighborhood.

Two suspects jumped out of the car and ran on foot. A short time later, officers located the driver and he was arrested.

The driver was found to be armed with a handgun. Police have identified him as 20-year-old Elijah Vern'London Rutledge of Waco.

He is also wanted for unauthorized absence from a correctional facility.

Other items recovered from the stolen vehicle include several firearms reported stolen out of Beverly Hills.

They are also attempting to identify the owners of the stolen guns and vehicle.

Rutledge was transported to McLennan County Jail on multiple charges, including Evading with a Vehicle, Evading on Foot, Unlawful Possession of Firearm by a Felon, Unlawful Carrying, and warrants for Unlawful Absence from the Correctional Facility, in addition to a Sexual Assault charge.
