ELM MOTT, TX — An arrest has been made after a man was shot to death in front of his 13-year-old son in Elm Mott.
According to the McLennan County Sheriff's Office, deputies were dispatched around 3:30 p.m. to the 3500 block of Mazanec Road for reports of a shooting.
The victim, 40-year-old Brent Reynolds, was standing on the side of the road with his 13-year-old son when he was shot. The suspect, 28-year-old Jacob Jones, then fled to a town home on Old Dallas Road in Lacy Lakeview.
MCSO says they do not believe the shooting was random.
MCSO says another person was involved in the shooting. Their role is unknown at this time.
