LORENA, TX — A Lorena Little League coach has tested positive for COVID-19.
In a letter to parents, the league announced one of its major league coaches tested positive for the virus. He contracted COVID-19 from a family member outside of Lorena who had also recently tested positive.
The league said the coach is not showing any symptoms at this time. He has been ordered by his doctor to quarantine for 7 days. During that time, he will monitor any symptoms.
The coach's family was also tested for the virus. Their results came back negative.
The team has been asked to take the week off with no games or practices. If they are symptom-free after 7 days, the team will be allowed to return to its scheduled games. The team has also been told to seek medical attention immediately if symptoms arise.
Lorena Little League said the rest of the league is moving forward as scheduled. The league is asking everyone to practice social distancing and stay home if you are feeling unwell.
