WACO, TX — A new way to get around is coming to Waco!
The Waco Metropolitan Planning Organization is putting together a pilot scooter program. This one year program will allow people to test out Lime Scooters and see if it's beneficial for the city.
These scooters can be useful, especially if you want to make a short trip around downtown instead of driving.
"I think having the e-scooters, whether it's Lime or another program in the future, is a really good asset to downtown. I think it's really good to have multiple different options for transportation," Chelsea Phlegar, planner for the Waco Metropolitan Planning Organization.
So far, Lime Scooters have a presence in Dallas, Austin, and several other cities across the U.S. and the world.
The Metro Planning Organization hopes to launch the scooters sometime in April.
